William Kalfelz — Audio Innovator, Developer & Designer

William Kalfelz is the visionary creator behind the Wusik and Krafto brands — a prolific developer known for blending cutting-edge digital signal processing with imaginative musical tools. With over two decades in the field of music technology, William has developed an expansive range of synthesizers, samplers, and audio effects for musicians, sound designers, and producers around the world.

As a C++ specialist, William engineers powerful VST/AU plugins such as Wusik Station, Wusik 8008, Wusik XV, and Wusik Stringz, as well as experimental effects like the Spectral Glitch Shuffler and Time-Drift Modulator. His work combines deep DSP knowledge with a passion for musical expressiveness — delivering tools that are both technically precise and creatively inspiring.

Under his Krafto brand, William extends his innovation into embedded hardware synthesis, developing multi-core audio engines on Raspberry Pi Pico 2 boards. His designs explore real-time DSP with I2S DACs, DMA buffering, and inter-board synchronization — creating standalone hardware synths that rival desktop instruments.

Under the Beat707 brand, he also released multiple Drum Machines and Arduino + MIDI related projects. You can check some of those on YouTube.

Beyond code, William is an accomplished UI/UX designer and creative director, crafting 3D interfaces, branding, and promotional materials that bring his products to life. His design philosophy merges retro inspiration with modern clarity — producing interfaces that feel instantly playable and visually distinct.

Driven by curiosity and craftsmanship, William approaches every project as both engineer and artist — from optimizing Q31 fixed-point filters to designing a synth front panel. His work is a continuous exploration of how sound, code, and design intersect to empower musicians everywhere.
